Three European operators are participating in the creation of a safety network to tackle online gender-based violence and support girls who are victims of violence.

Elena Founargiotaki

Elena Founargiotaki, with a degree in European studies, has been actively participating in Civil Society for the last 10 years. It is inspired and motivated by a future where technology enables children and teenagers to grow into thoughtful and diligent adults.

Kirill Gurvich

Kirill Gurvich is a dedicated adviser in the KUN Centre for Equality and Diversity with a strong background in sociology. He is a highly skilled and motivated member of the team. As an expert in research and development, his work focuses on issues related to (cyber) violence, diversity/discrimination, and stalking. Kirill possesses a keen interest in social sciences and web-design, which reflects his belief that accessibility and inclusion are fundamental values that should guide all aspects of the organization's work.

Tanya Skjønhaug

Tanya Skjønhaug is a senior adviser at KUN Centre for Equality and Diversity, Norway. Areas of her expertise include diversity management, working life and equal opportunities, gender equality and violence in close relationships. She is actively engaged in various projects aimed at addressing the digital dimension of violence against women and girls, and firmly believes that combatting violence in the digital world is possible.

Stavroula Karpetaki

Stavroula Karpetaki, a psychologist with a deep understanding of violence and trauma, is passionate about promoting safe relationships, both in person and online. She is motivated by a vision of a world where individuals are empowered to use technology responsibly and believes that everyone has a role to play in creating a safer digital world for all.

Nicholas Spetsidis

Nicholas Spetsidis, is the Projects Coordinator at the Union of Women Association of Heraklion since 2012. He has a strong background in mangement, strategic planning and communication. Nicholas has been advocating for a safer internet for kids and has lead and participated in a variety of projects towards this purpose.

Eleni Maraki

Eleni Maraki is the President of the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences and serves as Head of the Centre for Educational and Consultative Support of Heraklion, Crete. She holds a PhD in Sociology of Education and a Masters’ Degree in the field of ‘Gender and New Educational and Working Environments in the Information Society’. She has taught in educational programmes in Universities in Greece and Cyprus. Her scientific and research interests focus on Intercultural Education, New Technologies in Education, Special Education, Gender Discrimination, Conflict Management, Negotiation and Mediation Techniques.

Roula Marinaki

Marinaki Roula is the Secretary of the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences and a mediator in out of court settlements of legal disputes. She has a Master’s Degree in Adult Education and a Bachelor Degree in European Culture, in Pedagogical Education and Social Work. Her scientific interests focus on transformative learning, educational research and evaluation of interventions, resolution of conflicts, adult education and empowerment of vulnerable groups.

Jenny Psaltaki

Jenny Psaltaki is the Secretary of Innovative Programs, International Partnerships and Exchange at the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences. She has an extensive teaching experience and she has been involved in a variety of educational and research European projects. Her scientific and research interests focus on lifelong learning, intercultural education and the use of good practices in the educational process.
