and tools in the
framework of the SafeNet project

I. Protocol for Reporting and Supporting Victims of Gender-Based Online Violence

Analysis of the legislative and institutional framework of gender-based online violence and development of a targeted Protocol for the recording and management of incidents and for the support of victims of gender-based online violence, based on the practices and previous experience of the cooperating agencies in the field of support for victims of gender-based violence and management of online gender-based violence. Participates in the above action the Union of Women Associations of Heraklion in Greece and the Center for Equality and Diversity - KUN in Norway participate in the above action.

II. Online Live Chat tool for victim support

Creation of a modern remote communication tool, Live Chat, to support (potential) victims of online gender-based violence. The Live Chat tool will be encrypted and will ensure the anonymity of the participants. The tool will be available in Greek and will be operated by victim support officers of the Union of Women Associations of Heraklion. The Chat will be integrated on the website of the Association and will be linked to the website of the project.

III. Intervention for the Development of Skills of School Professionals and Secondary Education Teachers

Development of tools for interventions aimed at developing the capacities of school professionals and Secondary Education teachers in the subject of gender-based online violence. These interventions will focus on the gendered dimension of online violence, the role of professionals in the school environment regarding relevant incidents, strengthening the capacities of professionals and providing in-depth information to effectively identify, prevent and address gendered online violence in school . All three cooperating agencies in Greece and Norway participate in the above action.  

IV. Intervention for the Information and Awareness of Parents of adolescent children

Development of tools for interventions aimed at informing and sensitizing parents of teenagers on the issue of gender-based online violence. In addition, it will be accompanied by informative material (electronic guide). The intervention will aim to inform and sensitize parents of teenage children for effective support for children and will focus on the gender dimension of online violence. All three cooperating agencies in Greece and Norway participate in the above action.

V. Educational Activities for School Professionals and Secondary Education Teachers

Organization of educational activities for school professionals and secondary education teachers in the Region of Crete based on the professional capacity building intervention. The educational actions will take the form of workshops and will ensure the active participation of the participating professionals. Each training activity will last 3-4 hours and 20 professionals will be able to participate, so that the interactive and experiential methodology is possible. Union of Women Associations of Heraklion and the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences - IAKE in Greece participate in the above action.

VI. Educational Activities for Parents of Teenagers

Organization of educational activities for parents of teenagers based on the intervention of parental awareness. The educational actions will take the form of online and live workshops and will ensure the active participation of the participating parents. Each training activity will last 2-3 hours with 20 participants, so that the interactive and experiential methodology is possible. Union of Women Associations of Heraklion and the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences - IAKE in Greece participate in the above action.

VII. Advocacy Actions

Development of policymaking Proposals and Recommendations for online gender-based violence and victim protection in Greece, based on best practices from Norway and other European countries, as well as based on European Union policies and guidelines. Union of Women Associations of Heraklion and the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences - IAKE in Greece participate in the above action.
